As the cold weather is now firmly here with no signs of leaving any time soon I have set out to find a good pair of shoes, after months of wearing tiny open toe pumps, it is time to move on to more winter footwear. After recently buying a pair of the Primark copies of the Topshop Abstract(?) boots (which have ruined my feet to no end) I have been on the hunt to find some winter shoes that aren't boots.
As I am not much of a trainer girl the shoes had to be a loafer style and above all, practical. Now, as a girl I am mostly style over comfort which usually means style of practicality but after walking round all day in the bitterly cold in barely-there shoes I realised something had to give. Finding the perfect pair wasn't hard at all, I went straight to the Dr. Marten website as I knew for a fact I wouldn't be able to guarantee value for money and something that would actually last in a high street shop. I have a pair of matte black Dr. Marten boots but feel they are far too heavy on my feet and make my legs look horrific so I plan on selling them (albeit a hard decision to part with them) but the second I saw these I knew they were perfect. I am not usually into 'bulky' shoes as I think they make me look bigger than I am but these can be an exception, they're 100% leather and have a 'grippy' sole so perfect for wet weather, and most importantly they cover most of the foot!
Next weekend I am going into London for my birthday so I will be popping into the Dr. Marten shop to hopefully try these on and buy them as I just don't think a pair of Primark Loafers are going to do the trick this year!
